Hi, I’m Tyler Staples.

I have been working in the field of psychology for over a decade and am still as passionate and fascinated by it since the day I set out on this journey.

I took my first psychology class as a senior in high school over 20 years ago and haven’t looked back since. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology from The University of Kansas and my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Avila University here in Kansas City.

After 7 years working in the field as a Licensed Masters Level Psychologist (KS), in 2019, I returned to school to earn my Doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Kansas City University. My doctoral clinical training included a variety of experiences, including forensic psychology, child developmental psychology, and neurodevelopmental assessment services. I completed my internship at The Guidance Center, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in northeastern Kansas, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Child Clinical Psychology back at my original alma mater, The University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!), where I specialized in neurodevelopmental assessment and clinical therapy for children and adolescents.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in inpatient and residential treatment facilities, at private practice, in hospice and palliative care, and in hospital outpatient clinics, and have worked with a diversity of clients of differing backgrounds and ages. I have provided psychological consultations and public speaking engagements, which I still currently routinely provide. If you are interested in engaging in services with me but would like to learn more about my background, you can find out more by visiting my LinkedIn page, by contacting me, or by reviewing my curriculum vita, which is linked below. Feel free to also visit my Services page or Psychology Today profile to learn more about the services I currently provide. Thank you for visiting!
